Ramadan Challenge: Know & Love the Prophet ﷺ

By Umm Ibrahim

He is a man who is so easy to love. He is a man whose beauty, perfection and love for us shines through so clearly, yet our hearts seem to be blinded.

May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

The Prophet of Allah ﷺ was by far, the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth. He was a religious teacher, a social reformer, a moral guide, a just ruler, a faithful friend, a devoted husband and a loving father – all in one.

He loved us more than our parents could ever love us.

He wept for us in the depths of the night.

He only wished the best for us.

He worried for us.

He wished to meet us. He called us his brothers.

We have in him, a perfect role model.

He conveyed the best religion to us.

He lived the Quran for us to see and follow.

He left us on a Straight Path, which leads straight to Jannah.

The Best of Allah’s Creation. May peace and blessings be upon him.

Through him, Allah unsealed and unlocked people’s hearts, and opened their eyes and ears, and saved them from the pit of Fire. His Prophet-hood is a great favour upon us.

Allah says: ‘Verily, Allah and His Angels send blessings on the Prophet: O’ you who believe! Send blessings on him, and salute him with a worthy salutation.’ (Surah al-Ahzaab:33)

When your heart is filled with love, the salawaat (salutations) will flow naturally from your tongue. But how can you love him when you do not know him well? His looks, his likes and dislikes, his routine, his habits, his sayings, how well do you actually know him?

Today, take out some time to listen to a lecture on Seerah.
(Recommendation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fPb3tn49iDA), feel the love, and send abundant salawaat on Rasulullah (the Prophet of Allah) ﷺ.

This is one of the best ways to receive the Mercy and Forgiveness of Allah, as well as to have your duas accepted!

He Loved You!

He Loved You!

By Umm Ibrahim

Imagine the day when every identity of yours will become irrelevant.

The day when no one will care which country you are from, which language you speak, whose son or daughter or husband or wife you are.

The day when your education, career, political affiliations and social circles, all amount to fluff. No one will be bothered or impressed. You yourself, will forget all your identities as you stand naked, before the Master of the worlds, on that terrifying day.

Every person you were affiliated to in this world, will be ready to disown you and offer you in ransom. Not one will be ready to speak in your favour. No prophet, no wali, no teacher, no leader, no parent, no child- no one will care for anyone.

The one identity and affiliation that will be valuable there, will be that of being from the Ummah of Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wasallam). He is the only man who will care for you, even on that day; he is the only man who will intercede on your behalf, when no other human being is willing.

We need to rekindle the love of this identity in our heart. Our greatest honour, should lie in the fact, that we are from the Ummah of Muhammad (sallalahu alaihi wasallam). Our greatest affiliation should also be with this Ummah.

Rasulullah (sallalahu ‘alaihi wasallam) is the one man, who binds together the entire Ummah. We cannot love his Ummah until we love him. We will continue to be least bothered about the affairs of the Ummah, if we are not concerned about carrying forward his legacy.

He is a man who is so easy to love, yet our hearts seem to be diseased. He is a man whose beauty, perfection and love for us shines through so clearly, yet our hearts seem to be blinded.

May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.

He was by far, the most remarkable man that ever set foot on this earth. He was a religious teacher, a social reformer, a moral guide, a just ruler, a faithful friend, a devoted husband and a loving father – all in one.

The Best of Allah’s Creation. May peace and blessings be upon him.

Through him, Allah unsealed and unlocked people’s hearts, and opened their eyes and ears, and saved them from the pit of Fire. His Prophethood is a great favour upon us. Allah says:

“Indeed Allah conferred a great favour on the believers, when He sent among them a Messenger from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses, and purifying them, and teaching them the Book and Wisdom, while before that they had been in manifest error.” (Surah ale-Imran:164)

Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on us!

How can we claim to believe in him, yet ignore his life and his teachings? How can we be so unconcerned about his mission, so nonchalant about his Ummah?

Today, it is upon our shoulders to carry forth his mission and legacy, and to stand up for the protection and strength of his Ummah. When we care enough, we will find 101 ways to do it. And when we just don’t care enough, we will find the same number of excuses.

A Memorable Morning

So I was about to go to sleep and tell my friends to wake me up at Fajr when the electricity went. This doesn’t happen usually at GIKI so most of us came out of the rooms. I turned off the light and fan switches, wore my sandals, turned the torch on in my awesome Nokia mobile having a torch that works, picked up a packet of Catty Chins (Cheese) by Super Crisp (man they’re yummy) and went out of my room.

I sat for a while outside on the hostel stairs looking towards the sky (crazy about stargazing). It was quite dark and it seemed really nice, so calm and serene. And I thought to myself that what would it like be at the time of the Prophet (SallAllaahu Alaiyhi Wasallam)? They would have this peace everyday. No pollution, clear sky, no internet to keep them distracted, all connected to nature you know. It must have been amazing. So I finished my snack and went to the mosque. There was no one there at that time. After a while a junior came and we talked a bit and the Azaan started in different mosques around us. So we decided since the guy who usually gives it is not here yet we should go ahead. So for the first time in 4 years of my stay in GIKI, I gave the Azaan. It felt good Alhamdulillah except for the fact that there was no electricity!

Anyway, I lied down there for a while and that guy went out. I could feel that there were mosquitoes gathering around me. I started feeling itchy and knew they were biting. Then the light came and I saw them close to me. First my expression was:

las-mosquitoes

And I then I saw 3-4 sitting on my foot and I’m like

But I realized they must be a lot so I stood up and to no surprise there were quite a lot roaming around me. So I ran like crazy (not literally of course)…

After Namaz now I came back to my room and started counting the red spots that I could see on my hands and feet. To my surprise I have 67 (THREE LESS THAN SEVENTY) mosquito bites on my hands and feet alone (these are the ones I can see and count). Wonder what they did to the rest of me.

But there was only one conclusion this could lead to…. THEY LOVE ME!

Now I better get ready to leave for Rawalpindi. But first, gotta have those parathay…

Have a blessed day. Assalam u alaikum 🙂

When The Earth Starts To Shake…

Posted on

In light of the frequently occurring earthquakes these days… Most of these signs can be found in various Ahadith of the Prophet (SallAllaahu Alaiyhi Wasallam). I tried to find the ones I could. See the links in sha Allah.

As we reach close to the end of times

The earth gets filled with sins and crimes

When Humans worse than animals behave

When a child treats his own mother as a slave (1)

When false prophets start to increase in number (2)

When you wake people up but they prefer to slumber

When the most loved person is a liar and deceiver

When the most hated person is a faithful believer

When even Muslims start believing in false prophecies

When no one is afraid of committing hypocrisy

When killing someone becomes a piece of cake

When while taking a life, a person’s hands don’t even shake (3)

When children of fornication are born everyday

When people stop caring if someone goes astray

When all of this gets too much to take

Then that is when the earth frequently starts to shake… (4)
